Clever Cloggs Childcare first opened its doors at the Berwick Rd nursery in September 2007, Chloe Eales (Managing Director) has over 25 years’ experience working in a variety of settings both in the public and private sector and is passionate about enabling the staff team to provide high quality childcare, where children receive the best possible start in life.
We continuously ask ‘Would this be good enough for my child?’
To receive an Outstanding grading is very gratifying and we are all proud to have achieved this, however we are not complacent. We know we can always improve. We have been on amazing journey since opening and strive to continue to ensure we are an extraordinary and exceptional provision.
The staff team are from a wide spectrum of settings and all bring different knowledge and experience to Clever Cloggs; they have over 100 years of experience between. Clever Cloggs actively encourages the staff to continue their personal professional development. Since opening four members of staff have achieved their NVQ level 3 in Childcare and Education, seven members of staff have achieved their level 4 in Childcare and Education. We also have one member of staff working towards a Foundation Degree in Early Childhood Studies and one is working towards a BA Hons in Education and Child Development. 85% of staff hold a level 3 and above qualification in Childcare and Education; 50% is the required ratio of staff qualified to level 2 as stated by OFSTED.
The nursery closes for no more than 5 training days per year.
Staff become part of a family, we have a strong emphasis on parent/staff relationships, a friends of Clever Cloggs meeting is held three times per year, it is an opportunity for parents to meet each other informally and get to know the families of their children’s peers. As well as organising social get togethers such as Graduation Day, parents are encouraged to foster their own social outings which staff attend. Friends of Clever Cloggs meetings are an opportunity for staff to meet informally to enhance and forge positive relationships and to discuss the day to day operations of the nursery and how they impact on families.
At Clever Cloggs our main ethos is that children feel valued, loved and secure in their environment in order to enable them to make choices, try new concepts and make mistakes whilst being nurtured and cared for by adults sensitive to their needs. Children are given the opportunity to make choices and decisions in an environment where multiple learning experiences are provided through age appropriate equipment, natural resources’ and planned activities.
Once you have viewed our website, please feel free to contact us to make an appointment to view the nursery in person, we will be able to answer any questions or queries that you may have.
