Meet the Team ↓
Someone who supports your child's development and emotional well-being — a familiar, trusted presence from their very first day with us.
Your child's key person is an important role model — someone they can relate to and rely on. Children thrive when their needs are met by special people they know, trust, and respect.
A key person who's attentive and knows your child well allows them to concentrate, play freely, and learn more effectively. We believe a strong key worker relationship enhances a child's personal, social, and emotional development — making every other aspect of learning easier.
Your child's key person becomes their secure base. They quietly observe how your child learns through play, notice what interests them, and find ways to extend that learning. They celebrate every achievement — and gently flag anything that might need extra support.
Unless otherwise indicated, all staff are fully qualified to Level 3 in Childcare and Education as a minimum.
"My aim was to create a nursery with a home-from-home feel — for all children, parents, and staff to feel part of a family."
Chloe established Clever Cloggs Nursery in Welling in 2007, after a career spanning more than thirty years across schools, special educational settings, and day nurseries — including a chain of nurseries.
She has always believed in the importance of positive role models and continuously encourages the team to develop professionally — so every child reaches their full potential. Since opening, three members of staff have achieved an Honours Degree in Education, and one has studied at The Tavistock Institute to achieve a Masters.
"Every day is different — and watching the children grow and gain confidence is what makes this the best job in the world."
Katy has been part of the Clever Cloggs family since 2010 — over fifteen years of dedication, warmth, and steady leadership. She has worked across all age groups within the nursery and brings experience from residential settings as well.
As Assistant Manager she supports Chloe across every aspect of the nursery — from staff development to day-to-day operations — and is a familiar, trusted face for parents and children alike.

We genuinely value the partnership between parents, carers, and the nursery — and we work hard to strengthen and build on it. Our open-door policy and two-way communication are at the heart of how we work.
Chloe has noticed how family demographics have changed over the years — many families now live far from extended family. To strengthen that family feel we're known for, we created Friends of Clever Cloggs meetings.
These regular, informal meetups give parents and carers the chance to meet other families, share information, and form real friendships. It's one of the things that makes us feel different from the big franchises and nursery chains.
